The Issue I’d like to highlight in my pictures is the hardships a woman has to go through living in Pakistan. The young woman shown in my pictures is of a young age, is married and is working as a flower girl in one of Islamabads markets. To sell flowers to make a living and provide for her sister and child (also shown in one of the pictures) shows how change is desperately needed in order to improve conditions for women in Pakistan. The factor that attracted me to choose this young woman as the subject of my photography was the look in her eyes when I asked her about herself, she kept shrugging and smiling shyly, looking at life as if it is the most uncomplicated of things, to be grateful for whatever she had and how matters such as not selling enough flowers in a day to make sufficient amount of money didnt matter to her because at the end of the day she knew everything would be alright. Everything would be fine. I applaud such young women, who in the most dire of circumstances can look towards a brighter future, a better future for themselves and their children with nothing to hold on to, except faith.
